This time, I made “Baumkuchen Rusk” which can be easily mass-produced using MUJI's uneven baumkuchen!
There are many varieties of MUJI's baumkuchen, so you can make it using your favorite baumkuchen and decorate it with chocolate and toppings to make it pretty.
◇ Baumkuchen Rusk
5 kinds Baumkuchen (MUJI)
30g Unsalted butter
30-40g Granulated sugar
- Change the butter and granulated sugar according to the amount you make.
◆Decoration
50g Sweet Chocolate
50g Strawberry chocolate
50g White chocolate
If you want a real coating, temper the chocolate or use coating chocolate.
I recommend this because the coating chocolate can be very beautiful.

How to make
1. Cut the Baumkuchen into 5mm slices. (About 16 pieces)
(If the amount is too much, you can reduce the number of Baumkuchen or eat half of it as is!)
2. In that case, adjust the amount of butter and granulated sugar.
3. Line the oven tray with two sheets of baking paper and arrange the Baumkuchen pieces.
(Since the bottom tends to burn easily, we use two layers of baking paper.)
4. Heat unsalted butter in a 600W microwave for 40–50 seconds to melt it.
5. Use a brush to apply the melted butter to the arranged Baumkuchen pieces.
6. Sprinkle granulated sugar over them using a spoon.
7. Bake in a preheated 160°C oven for 15–20 minutes while keeping an eye on them.
8. Melt the chocolate in 50°C hot water and coat the edges of the Baumkuchen rusk.
(For a more professional coating, use coating chocolate or temper the chocolate properly.)
9. Decorate with your favorite toppings and let them set at room temperature.
(If it doesn't set well, you can chill it in the refrigerator for a while to harden!)
