Oku-kinu Onsen “Hatcho-no-Yu” in Tochigi
Opened in 1929 / The last unexplored region/hidden hot spring in Kanto, surrounded by virgin beech forests / 100% natural flowing from a hot spring source
The famous hot spring is called "Lamp Inn" because the lights used to be lamps when there was no electricity.
Further inside Kinugawa Onsen is a secluded hot spring in Nikko National Park that is not accessible to general vehicles.
To get to the inn, take the inn's shuttle bus or walk from the free public parking lot.
Surrounded by a mysterious virgin forest of beech trees, the hot springs at the inn are 100% natural and free-flowing. Locally sourced food is amazingly delicious! It is a rare inn that makes you want to visit again, even though it is difficult to access.
