This is a beautiful moist Lemon Drizzle Cake. The whole recipe costs only £1.59 that's 0.22p Per Slice. It's very simple to make, takes only about 10 minutes and it is delicious. In all of these baking videos I will be using basic low cost ingredients and making delicious and healthy food from scratch.
Lemon Drizzle Cake.
200ml (g) Veg Oil 0.32
4 eggs 0.52
110g Sugar 0.16
200g SR Flour 0.10
1 Tsp baking powder 0.03
¼ tsp salt 0.01
2 lemons 0.20
100g Icing Sugar 0.25
Total 1.59
7 Slices @ 0.22
Prep a loaf tin.
Juice the two lemons - set 3 Tbsp aside for the icing.
Combine the eggs - oil and sugar and beat until creamed then add lemon zest and some of the lemon juice and beat together
Add the flour - baking powder and salt and beat into a light batter.
Put in an oven at 175c for 45mins.
Mix 3 Tbsp of lemon juice with 3 Tbsp of icing sugar and mix for the topping.
