গরুর মাংসের দাম দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার মধ্যে বাংলাদেশেই সর্বোচ্চ। অথচ মাংসে এখন স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ দেশ। কেজিতে উৎপাদন খরচ তিনশ টাকার মতো হলেও বাজারে বিক্রি হচ্ছে সাড়ে ছয়শ থেকে সাতশ টাকায়। এ অবস্থায় বাজার নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা না গেলে অর্জনের সুফল ভোক্তা পাবে না বলে জানিয়েছেন প্রাণিসম্পদ মন্ত্রী।
