The plaintiff used to date the defendant. While they were together, the plaintiff says she loaned the defendant money. Once they broke up, the plaintiff couldn't get the defendant to pay her back, so she's suing. The defendant admits the plaintiff gave him money, but she held his expensive hat hostage and then cut it up with a razor. The defendant is countersuing for the hat damages.
