New to sourdough? Establishing and maintaining a sourdough starter is definitely a science, but it doesn’t need to be over complicated. One of the most asked questions when someone begins their sourdough journey is how to maintain their starter. I’m here to help!

I’ve had Celiac Disease for over 15 years and have jumped full force into the gluten free sourdough life. I hope this video answers all of your questions about gluten free sourdough maintenance. We look at how to feed a starter and how store for daily use, weekly use, and even air drying or dehydrating for long term storage. Keep in mind, if you have a newly established starter that while you can bake with it, it can take about a month of frequent feeding to begin reaching its full potential.

Something to keep in mind when looking at sourdough recipes:
Active starter= Starter that was recently fed and now bubbly.
Discard= Starter being used straight from the fridge. Active starter can also be used in a “discard” recipe.

Let me know if you have any question. I do my best to help as many people as possible. I’d love if you would like, subscribe, and follow along for more gluten free sourdough baking!
