Making A Net Bag With No Special Tools

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Make a net bag from scrap yarn or cordage, using no special knots or tools. No pins, macrame boards, netting needles, or netting stitches - this project can be completed in your lap! This bag is a simple double-drawstring bag, ideal for collecting larger produce like apples, potatoes, onions, etc. The size of the bag can be adjusted by altering the width of your gauge, the number of strings in your foundation ring, and/or the length of your yarn pieces. Experiment ‘til you get something that works for you. This is a great project for using up scrap yarn, or hand-me-down yarn that won’t be used in other projects. It can be stashed in a pocket, to be worked on during waiting periods. Stell Michelsen is a lifelong multidisciplinary artist and craftsperson, and unapologetically enthusiastic trash goblin.
