Mohammad, a passionate and energetic young man, stood in front of the camera, loudly telling the story of his life. He had just been released from prison and was now facing a new world. In the meantime, he decided to go to his old house, where Masoumeh was currently living. Mohammad told the operator, “Let’s go to this old house of mine that Masoumeh is now living in.”
When they got there, Mohammad shouted to Masoumeh and Arezo, “Let’s get out of my house! I was in prison for two months and I built this house.” Masoumeh, with eyes full of surprise, replied, “I will stay here and not move. You get out of here!” Frustrated by this answer, Mohammad said, “Okay, I will go now and I will come with the police tomorrow.”
The tension in the air was palpable. Muhammad, who was angry, started throwing things away and Masooma calmly told him, “The car key is with the previous operator, Fatima.” Muhammad, frustrated and angry, followed Fatima.
When he reached Fatima’s house, he shouted, “Give me my car key!” But Fatima did not answer him and only said, “Where is Zainab first?” Muhammad, whose anger had overcome him, shouted again, “Give me my key!” But Fatima still did not listen to his words.
Finally, Muhammad, in a sudden move, reached into Fatima’s pocket and took the keys and left without any hesitation. He said to the operator, “Or let’s go to the city to get my hair cut and go to Zainab.”
After cutting his hair, Muhammad went to Zainab with some fruits. But when Zainab saw him, she angrily threw the fruits at her and said, “Why didn’t you think of me?”
In the midst of all this tension and conflict, Muhammad wondered if these choices and decisions would lead him anywhere or would only drown him in a whirlpool of more problems. He knew that he had to find a way to calm down and solve his problems, but along the way, his emotions and relationships with others became very complicated.
This story is a story of choices and their consequences; choices that can lead our lives to light or darkness. Muhammad had to learn that to achieve peace, he had to be honest with himself and others and, ultimately, prioritize love and friendship.
