An enormous, easy to pack away CNC machine that is largely 3D printed? Meet the V1 Engineering Lowrider2! In part 1 I made the parts and assembled the frame. In part 2, I setup with an SKR V1.3 mainboard, TMC5160 silent steppers, dual endstop self squaring firmware and a customised MKS TFT touchscreen.

In this instalment, I make a custom mount for my trimmer router, manufacture a cheap but effective spoil board and clamps, and then cut some timber, acrylic and aluminium in three different styles.

This guide focuses on Kiri-moto, a free cloud based CAM program that I find quick and easy to use for light duty milling like this. You can use whatever program you are comfortable with as the principles are the same.

Key message here: The lowrider2 is awesome but don't hold it back with a cordless router.
