ഈ വര്‍ഷം ഏപ്രില്‍ മേയ് മാസത്തോടെ ദേശീയ പാത 66ന്റെ നാലു റീച്ചുകളുടെ നിര്‍മ്മാണം പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകും. ഇതോടെ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകുന്ന റീച്ചുകളുടെ എണ്ണം പത്താകും. ശേഷിക്കുന്ന 13 റീച്ചുകളുടെ നിര്‍മ്മാണം വേഗത്തിലാക്കണമെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര ഉപരിതല ഗതാഗത മന്ത്രാലയം ദേശീയപാത അതോറിട്ടിക്ക് നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അടുത്ത ഫെബ്രുവരി മാര്‍ച്ചോടുകൂടി ഈ റീച്ചുകള്‍ തീര്‍ക്കാനാകുമെന്നാണ് കരാര്‍ കമ്പനികളുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷ. രാമനാട്ടുകര മുതല്‍ വെങ്ങളംവരെയുള്ള കോഴിക്കോട് ബൈപ്പാസ് മേയില്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയായേക്കും. 28.4 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരമുള്ള ബൈപ്പാസിന്റെ 86% നിര്‍മ്മാണം പൂര്‍ത്തിയായിട്ടുണ്ട്
The expansion of National Highway 66 is progressing rapidly, with four more reaches set for completion by April-May 2025. This will bring the total completed stretches to ten, significantly improving connectivity across Kerala. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to fast-track the remaining 13 reaches, which are expected to be finished by February-March 2026.
