Celebrating one year of being a Nightwish fan, I’m honored to share my music video tribute for Spider Silk song!
After the release of the new album Yesterwynde, in September, I was inspired to create music videos for some songs, first being just an experiment, based on clips from a TV series.
I started this new project in October 2024, planning to finish it within a few weeks, using AI-generated clips... It has been actually a journey of three months, involving around 250 hours of (amateur) editing, including learning editing software, learning how to prompt AI to get the results I needed, and a lot of passion.
It was fascinating to witness how much AI evolved over just three months. I ended up re-generating 90% of the clips from the first 1,5 months because each new AI version brought incredible improvements in quality and accuracy. Even in the last two weeks, the updates to Kling AI significantly enhanced video and image generation, allowing me to finally complete a few clips where I had been stuck for a while. While the temptation to regenerate more was strong, I had to avoid turning this into a never-ending story with costs that were too high for a hobby project.
So, finally, I’m proud to present the completed video, 90% of which is AI-generated (except the "space and Earth" intro). Along the way:
- 312 clips and 1280 images were generated using Kling AI (Professional version, Standard/Pro plan)
- 234 clips were generated with Minimax AI (Standard Subscription)
- 39 intermediate video versions were made during the editing process
- 148 AI generated clips out of 546 were used in the final cut, and around 20 images of the 1280 (to generate clips).
