My friends, it was just a few years back when I wasn't using any fancy post-shading techniques on my models for one major reason - I wasn't good at airbrushing and I didn't enjoy the process as much. As my experience with airbrushes grew over time, I started putting more effort into the initial painting stages. As this fascination kept growing, the base coats were becoming so contrasting that many of the weathering techniques had little to no effect on the finished paint job. So let's now turn the clock back and see how I've done things in the past, and maybe we'll learn some important lessons!

Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with a handful of modelling brands and stores, namely VMS, Michigan Toy Soldier Company, and AK-Interactive. As such, I'm happy to use their products/services, and show them in my work. In return, they support my efforts in this hobby, although my hands are not bound nor am I obligated to push one brand or the other. This was one of the founding ideas of the channel and I will always stand by this.
