In a story of familial sexual abuse, we hear from sisters Nicola and Emma, who were abused by their father Kevin Twomey over a period of 12 years in Port Talbot, South Wales. Twomey was a well respected member of the community who raised money for charity by playing Santa at local community fund raisers. Emma was ten years old and Nicola just five when the abuse started which culminated in the horrific rape on Nicola when she was 17. Nicola and Emma found the strength to go the police and we have exclusive footage of their video statements to police where they revealed for the first time, the extent of the abuse they suffered at the hands of their father. But this is a story of two sisters finding strength in adversity, It is a journey for them and how they found the courage to go to the police and get a conviction and how since then, they have become parents themselves and are leading happy lives. It is an inspirational journey. With expert analysis from Forensic psychologist Dr Keri Nixon and psychologist Emma Kenny, we get an insight into the mind paedophile Kevin Twomey, plus we reveal the devastating impact sexual abuse has on a family.
