I cover a handful of topics in this video including the difference between an overdrive and a boost pedal, how an overdrive pedal works, and provide some metal guitar tone tips. I also go over some definitions including amp headroom, soft clipping and hard clipping within an overdrive and distortion pedal. Some tone differences between a boosted and unboosted amp are showcased along with a single coil vs a humbucker and how it relates to clipping and voltage.
