Competitive Pokemon Singles is great when it comes to preserving older formats.
Older Generations of OU are all playable on Showdown with their own ranked ladders and active tournament scenes.
But there are some older Pokemon formats that have been lost. Initial metagames from a time when all options in a Generation weren't Present yet.
Ruby and Sapphire had it's own distinct metagame compared to Gen 3's current state, and every generation has examples of Older iterations of the Metagame that barely anyone plays anymore.
Let's explore some of these lost metagames and see if any are worth returning to.
