ලාංකීය සිනමාවේ ජනාධිපති විජය යි කියලා කිව්වොත් ඒ් කතාවේ ඒක්තරා ඇත්තක් තියෙනවා. විජය කුමාරණතුංග කියන්නේ ලාංකීය ජනප්‍රිය සංස්කෘතියේ දැවැන්ත බල කණුවක්. විජය කියන්නේ ලාංකීය සිනමා සෙලිබ්‍රිටි ලෝකයේ රසික ජන හිත දිනූ අධිපති. ඒ් වගේම හැත්තෑව අසූව කාලයේ සිට ලාංකීය දේශපාලනයේ හැඩය වෙනස් කිරීමට හැකි වූ ජන හිත දිනූ දේශපාලන තරුව ද වෙන්නේ විජය යි. විජය ගේ දේශපාලන සූදුව, උපාය උපක්‍රම ඔහුව ජනපති තනතුර පෙනෙන මානයකට රැගෙන ආ බව නොරහසක්. ඔහු ඒ් වෙනුවෙන් තම සිනමා අනුහස, ජනකාන්තබව ආයෝජනයක් ලෙස හැසිර වූ බව අපට තේරුම්ගන්න පුළුවන්. රිදී තිර ආලෝකය විජය කුමාරණතුංග ගේ දේශපාලනයට ප්‍රක්ෂේපිත දීප්තියක් වූයේ ඒ නිසා යි. තම සිනමා කැරිස්මාව ම පමණක් දේශපාලන ලොව ජයග්‍රහණයට ප්‍රමාණවත් වේ යැයි ඔහු සිතූ නිසා ලාකීය සිනමාවට, කලාවට නැතුවම බැරි පුද්ගල පෞරුෂයක්, මිනිස් සම්පතක් අපිට අහිමි වෙනවා. ලාංකීය සිනමා ප්‍රේක්ෂක 'ජන සංස්කෘතියේ අධිපති' විජය වෙන්නේත්, ලාංකීය සිනමාවේ ජනාධිපති විජය වෙන්නේත් මෙන්න මේ නිසා යි.
