Pottery + Handbuilding: Adding Coil Details

Heyo! Happy New Years and welcome back! Today I will be constructing a hand-built coil detail onto a wheel thrown bowl. I’ll show you how I design, attach and support the coils. This is the first video tutorial in a 4-part series I am making for my Pottery 3 class. The focus is on ways to alter wheel thrown pots to add unique embellishments. Some of the students in this class have never used clay for aesthetic or sculptural details, so this should be a fun and exploratory unit. Enjoy!
