Railroad Switching On An American Railroad! Working a scrap metal spur on a short line railroad in America. Rare Sunday train on Cincinnati Eastern Railroad. Notice the old Norfolk & Western Railway signals and pole line with glass insulators still in place although abandoned long ago. The train passes Sardinia, Ohio at the Sardinia Wye where you can see the newest locomotive acquired by CCET. It's a 6 axle unit that I will get better pictures of soon. Then the train arrives in Macon to set off a gondola railcar on the scrap metal spur for loading. We get to see both sides of the train and watch how a railcar is spotted on a siding. This railroad use to only operate Monday through Friday during regular working hours with a few exceptions for special orders. Here we see it running all the way to the quarry at the east end of the line on a Sunday. I have also filmed it twice on Saturdays so it looks like weekend trains will become common.
