After my morning chase of Reading & Northern's #2102 steam locomotive ended prematurely when my truck was rear-ended and totaled, the railroad stepped up in not only helping me get home but doing it in style with a bucket list ride on the back of the train. Thank you very, very much to Andy Muller, Jr., Tyler Glass, and Matt Fisher for this incredible experience! As Tyler aptly put it, "we made lemonade out of lemons today."
The day's trip featured a different Reading 6-chime whistle owned by my colleague Steve Gilbert. I wish you all the best in your retirement, Steve! It has been a pleasure working with you the past few months, and I hope I can make you proud in keeping our trains looking as good as you have.
