Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this axe at flea market. There is a stamp on the head of the axe but I did not understand what it means if anyone knows please leave a comment. Thank you in advance!
Restoration process:
I removed the old axe handle and used electrolysis to remove the rust from axe.
I used a lot of file work to correct the shape of axe.
To correct cutting edge of axe I used anglegrinder machine.
For sharpening an axe I used stones and leather for final step.
I used iron brushes to removed the dirty dark color and only then I used iron chloride to get clean dark color on axe.
For handle, I used a birch tree for my axe.
Also, I painted the handle and impregnated it via linseed oil.
Finally, as usual I made axe test for you. I hope, you will enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
