After abandoning Big Red at Budapest Airport and waiting in Turkey for Leanne to receive her visa, we finally received her visa for Albania (not Serbia, as we had hoped). As we prepared to return to van life, excitement mingled with a bittersweet reality. With Big Red parked in a Schengen area, it meant that Leanne could not return to the van with me, forcing us to part ways for a couple of days.
After a difficult goodbye, Leanne stayed in Turkey while I (Dan) flew to Budapest to retrieve the van. I then made a long and tricky drive across three borders to Albania to pick Leanne up at the airport, where we were finally reunited!
