1983 was the year of the duel between the titans of James Bond: Sean Connery and Roger Moore. For Connery's seventh outing, we have a different production team, a more low-key adventure, the return of SPECTRE, a fine cast, a new version of one of the most iconic 007 stories, accompanied by a unique score, and directed by the man who brought us one of the greatest films ever made. Is Kevin McClory's version of these elements enough to triumph over the official film featuring the one man who gave Connery a run for his money and successfully relaunched the series in the 70s?
