Many songs from the early Simon repertoire feel like they were written especially for me to sing. Beautiful songs from his album “Song Book” I sometimes even like better from Paul Simon solo rather than S&G versions.
Scarborough Fair is a traditional English ballad upon a possible visit by someone to the Yorkshire town of Scarborough. The song implies the tale of a man who instructs the third party to tell his former love, who lives in said fair town, to perform for him a series of impossible tasks and then he would take her back into his affections.
