When it comes to motorcycle helmets, fit isn’t just about comfort — it’s about performance, vision, and safety. That’s where Shoei’s Personal Fitting System (PFS) steps in. In this video, we dive deep into Shoei’s unique 3D helmet fitting service to see how custom-tailored padding can transform your ride.
Forget the “try a thicker cheek pad” routine — Shoei’s PFS uses precision head measurements (length, width, and height) along with proprietary software to recommend interior padding configurations for your specific helmet model. Whether you're rocking a race-ready X-Fifteen, an everyday RF-1400, or a touring GT-Air 3, PFS helps dial in a helmet fit that's snug and stable.
The Motorcycle.com team visited Beach Moto LA to put the system to the test. One of us walked away with no changes needed (golden-ratio noggin, apparently), while the others experienced significant improvements in fit, stability, field of vision, and overall comfort. PFS identified trouble areas, corrected helmet height, and even made space for glasses to sit properly — all without changing helmet size.
Available for new and select prior-generation Shoei helmets, the PFS service runs $60 with a new helmet or $80 afterwards — though prices may vary by dealer. Considering the gains in fit, comfort, and rider confidence, it’s well worth the price of admission.
If your Shoei isn’t quite right — or you want to make sure it is — check out the Shoei Personal Fitting System. Trust us, your head will thank you.
