Simple steps to level your lawn include scalping, fertilizing, aeration and level agent application. If you not already scalped your lawn or applied your spring fertilizer application, during this process is your opportunity. Leveling your lawn can be an extensive process but try not to over complicate it.
Todays lawn leveling of this Bermuda grass is being done with 100% sand. You can also use a 50/50 ratio of sand and screened compost or 100% compost. All depends on your current soil type and goals for the season.
After scalping your lawn, you will want to apply an application of fertilizer. This step will allow the grass to push through which ever leveling agent you decide to use.
All in all, leveling your Bermuda grass will help with any uneven areas you may be experiencing. This will first be noticed when your using your rotary mower and the wheels start dipping up and down creating those awful scalp marks. That’s your Que to level your lawn.
