Before visiting Singapore, we didn't know that the Singapore Botanic Garden was an UNESCO World Heritage site! It's one of only 3 gardens in the world to have such a designation. A number of themed gardens are contained inside - a rainforest walk, healing garden, foliage garden, orchid area, ginger, a fenced-in toxic garden, and more! We also visit Symphony Lake, where a Guiness World Record was set in 2009.
On Day 4, we take the bus to Kong Meng San Phor Kark See, also known as KMSPKS. It's the largest Buddhist temple in Singapore, and once we visited, we saw just how big that meant it was! The architecture was beautiful - incredibly different from architecture at home. Our visit took place on the same day as the annual QingMing festival, and that turned out to be a fantastic time to visit. *Tons* of people came to pay respect to their ancestors and loved ones. It was very special for us to share their day with them.
