Stihl MS261C Chainsaw Motor Ruined! Less than a year old. Only used a hand full of times.

I really wanted my saw to last for many years but in less than one year it was trash! Did I cause this? What can an owner of an MS 261C Stihl Chainsaw do to avoid this from ever happening? I have an idea from subscriber comments but I need more advice. Please help, I want this new saw to last. I also have other problems. Come on chainsaw geeks, help me! I am trying to learn!
