In today's video we will cover a question from A Level Physics on the gravitational potential.
According to the examiners report, the gravitational potential was not well applied and students "struggled to proceed" in this question. We will answer what is the minimum speed to throw an object from Earth so that it reaches the Moon.
This particular question is from Edexcel Physics 2020 Paper 2. Please note that this is not an official solution and my reasoning may be wrong and I am not affiliated with the exam board.

This question is excellent revision for Edexcel Paper 2, and also for AQA A Level Physics Paper 2, OCR A Level Physics Paper 1 and in general for gravitational fields and astrophysics topic.
It can also be used for similar exam boards such as the CIE syllabus, IB Physics, AP Physics etc.
