Seventeenth project in a series using 2 1/2 inch strips to make scrappy quilts! This pattern is called Chains and is a large scale version of an Irish Chain quilt! Use all your leftover strips from two different colors for a cohesive look or use multiple colors for the dark to create a wonderful scrappy quilt. Or use jelly rolls and some yardage from your favorite fabric designer!

This quilt is a bit more involved than previous strip project videos but WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!
This is one of my favorites so far and I don't usually like brown and cream quilts; not my color preference at all! This is a visually stunning quilt top! I will definitely be making this quilt top again in a different color combination.

I've challenged myself to do a new project each month using only 2 1/2 inch strips from my scrap buckets. I have always saved leftover strips from projects and cut up small leftover fabric from yardage into 2 1/2 inch strips and put them in a bucket for some "future" project . The future is now! It is time to tame the scrap bucket and use up these strips. I'll always have a scrap bucket of strips because I'm constantly adding to it Even though I'm down to one bucket, the videos will keep going because I can just start using jelly rolls when my bucket is empty. Let's be honest, it will probably never be completely empty! So join me on this project adventure to use up fabric scraps!

If you don't have leftover strips from other projects to make scrappy quilts, cut up fabrics in your stash into 2 1/2" strips to make the project. No stash of fabric? Head to your local quilt shop and buy a jelly roll or some very pretty fabric to cut into strips! Shop owners are more than happy to help you find the perfect fabric, don't be shy, ask for help if you need it!
