67-year-old dual residence life. 2 hours by car from Tokyo. Once a week, I go to my parents' house to clean and do yard work.
I wear my son's hand-me-downs as work clothes. I rescued sweaters that were no longer worn by my son and were going to be disposed of.
My father's cardigan, which I pulled out from the back of the closet, had holes in it, but I embroidered it and gave it a simple remake. I love these small handmade projects.
Today's weather is rainy. I had to postpone making the stove.
I made tea earlier.
I'm always alone, but I really enjoy the time I have to drink tea, imagining that I'm with someone. It's exhilarating to take out a cup and choose a snack, things that I would just do haphazardly if I were alone.
There is currently fighting happening in Ukraine. I realized that the setting of the brave stories I loved as a child was Ukraine, and my imaginary world suddenly connected to the real world.
I send my wish for peace from this small garden.
