I flew an Airbus A340-300 from China to Switzerland in First Class! This 14-hour flight was one of the coolest experiences of my life onboard Swiss Air Lines.
Swiss is well-known for its premium cabins and I've previously enjoyed their Business Class experience! I needed to fly home from Shanghai and I saw they run daily A340 flights to Zurich. Swiss has four A340's in it's fleet and they will be retired by 2026, so I knew this was a rare opportunity to fly on a disappearing aircraft. In order to avoid paying the ridiculous $7,709 First Class price tag, I originally booked a Business Class ticket and then upgraded with cash for a total cost of $4,824. The Swiss A340's underwent a renovation in 2019 where they installed all-new incredible First Class suites.
Swiss is the flag carrier of Switzerland, operating in Europe and to North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. The airline's main hub is Zurich, but they established a focus city in Geneva.
