We are investing in innovative solutions to keep our commitments to patients and environmental sustainability. As part of our strategy to achieve zero waste-to-landfill by fiscal year 2030, we’ve invested $10 million in a state-of-the-art biomedical plastic waste processing facility at our 1.1 million square foot plasma-derived therapies manufacturing campus in Covington, GA, located east of Atlanta. This facility produces immunoglobulin and albumin therapies for treating patients with rare diseases.

The 8,000 square foot processing facility will sterilize and shred millions of plastic bottles and test tubes annually. The processed plastic is then sent to regional recyclers to be converted into products like containers, pallets, cable reels, fencing, and flooring, thereby diverting waste from landfills and minimizing the use of virgin plastic in new materials.
