Tallgrass Prairie Responses to Forecast Climate Change

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Jesse Nippert, professor of biology, discusses the latest climate change forecasts for the central Great Plains along with grassland data from nearly 20 years of experimental climate manipulation studies conducted at the Konza Prairie Biological Station. These long-term experiments provide insight about the conditions under which future climate changes are likely to have their largest effects on the tallgrass prairie ecosystem.

This talk was presented for students participating in the capstone course of the Natural Resources and Environmental Science (NRES) Secondary Major and was open to the general public as part of the NRES Seminar Series.

The NRES Secondary Major and its seminar series are generously supported by the Office of the Provost, College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, and Department of Geography.
