Tamiya Honda CR450R
This is a kit I bought at an auction and forgot I had bought it.
I made this with the motivation of knowing that if I don't make it now, I might not make it forever, and to practice figure making.
Tamiya's website states that production is suspended (not discontinued), but I don't think there will be any resale.
However, when it was completed, it turned out to be a cool bike.

makking of a kit
Since this is an old kit, some parts may be omitted.
I have reproduced the omitted parts.

spoke replacement
Spokes: 0.3mm stainless steel spring wire
Nipple: 0.32mm wire sheath

engine
Addition of clutch arm.
Added one adjustment knob to the carburetor.
Added sprocket guard.
I added the batteryless wire coming out of the crankcase.

frame
The coil and igniter were too large and had to be rebuilt.
Added a chain guard to the swing arm.
The chain entrance of the chain guide was closed, so I tried opening it.

bib plate
The front bib plate has a square mesh shape.

handlebar
Add a cushion to the brace bar with plastic pipe.

Chamber
Add spring.

Painting
The frame and engine are both red, so I used three different colors of red.
Frame is silver → shine red
Engine is silver → RLM23 red
Since the fender and tank are made of iron, only the tank is silver → red FS111356
The fender is made of resin so it is direct red FS111356

Weathering
I lightly expressed the dirt on dry soil.
ocher soil, stain brown, sundy wash

Chamber
I chose the color of the titanium chamber.
Black → Silver → Clear Blue, Clear Red, Clear Brown
It was then smoke washed and given a matte coat.
If you apply clear after black or silver, the underlying black will bleed over time, so you can take advantage of that effect.

figure doll
This is an action doll (size: L).
When I asked a friend of mine who makes figures, he said that the most important thing is the skeleton and the flesh, and the third most important thing is the clothing.
This time, I took that advice into consideration and spent time posing and fleshing it out.
In the end, if you have trouble making a figure, the best thing to do is ask the person who makes the figure.
Somehow, I figured out how to make it.
My goal is to be able to scratch figures that are acceptable to figure artists.

Base
I used Tamiya textured clay.
It is a resin clay that contains granular substances that will not stain your hands.
It's a great product that gives you an earthy surface feel just by layering it, but I tried brightening the color to express dry soil.

Next time, it's been a year since I started making motorcycle models, so I would like to make my first motorcycle model, the RC166, better than it was a year ago.
This time, a figure is also included.
I would be happy if you could comment that I have grown.

This CR450R will be put up for Japanese auction.
They'll probably take better care of it than I would if I kept it in a cardboard box.

Thank you all of you!
