More information on Step 4: I feel like I didn't give a great description, so here are some additional tips for picking Pokemon in that awkward middle stage:
- pick something that gives your team something it is lacking (previously missing type resistance, priority, immediate power, answer to a common threat, etc.)
- pick something that suits the playstyle you're using
- pick something that synergizes well with the other Pokemon you've added
