Sugar Butter Cookies
Ingredients I used:
4 sticks softened butter
1 cup plus ¾ cup granulated sugar, Domino Sugar Only
1/2 cup sugar for rolling dough in sugar, optional
4 cups and 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, Gold Medal Brand
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, Watkins or McCormick
Preparation: Tip...if you like less sugar for the dough then use less, but I can't guarantee it will taste like mine.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add vanilla extract and blend well. Mix in flour in small increments to start forming dough. Once you have reached desired texture, roll dough into balls then roll in sugar (or don’t roll in sugar). Flatten on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes (ovens vary) or until golden brown on top rake. Makes about 72 medium cookies.
