In this video, I (a contemporary voice specialist) analyse Metallica performing "Enter Sandman" (Live in Moscow 1991) on the fly whilst watching and hearing it for the first time.
Watch me gaze in awe at this historic, electrifying event between describing James Hetfield’s distortion technique and obsessing over his boldly bizarre vowel modulation. From power stances, to full circumference headbangs to the… eclectic timing of Lars Ulrich’s drumming, to FIRE.. this really has it all. In this video, I analyse the composition and vocal performance. I explain and demonstrate the vocal techniques (from an anatomical perspective), and ultimately tell you what I think makes this so great.

If we are meeting for the first time, HELLO GORGEOUS! I'm Lolli, a voice teacher and vocal anatomy nerd specialising in contemporary techniques. I have a degree in vocal performance, and I am studying for a masters degree in voice pedagogy. I sing aaaall the time!
