In rainy conditions and on wet asphalt, the grip of Formula 1 cars is significantly compromised. For this reason, drivers and teams equip the cars with intermediate and extreme wet tires. However, despite this, there are situations where the driver loses control of the car because a layer of water forms between the tire and the asphalt, which the tire cannot evacuate. This situation is called aquaplaning. We tested it with a very simple experiment 😊
A bit of wood, a blower, and foam. Aquaplaning in F1.
