I explored ""Ono Shrine"" in Tama City, Tokyo, Japan, and ""Takahata Fudoson"" in Hino City. A place where people's prayers still live on, beyond time. The depth of Japanese history and the light of faith that endures despite being tossed around by the times. All of this is engraved in these two sacred places. We want you to become a witness to this journey through our virtual walk.

When you pass through the torii gate of Ono Shrine, you can feel the atmosphere change. It feels as if you have fallen between the past and the present. This shrine, which has been revered for more than a thousand years as the Ichinomiya of Musashi Province, is not just a historical building. The sacred tree that stands at the back of the shrine has survived hundreds of years, and its trunk is imbued with the wishes of countless people. When you place your hand on the trunk, you can feel the faint beating of an ancient prayer, wondering who entrusted what feelings to it. The only sound in the silence was the sound of the wind shaking the trees. It's the moment when time stops and your mind becomes clear.

And Takahata Fudoson. It's not just a temple, it's a place where faith, history, and memories of battle intertwine. As you pass through the Niomon Gate, Fudo Myo-o, burning with anger, glares at you, cutting off any hesitation in the minds of visitors. For over a thousand years, people's wishes have been piled up in this temple, which is considered one of the three most immovable temples in the Kanto region.

However, the story of Takahata Fudoson does not end there. The soul of Toshizo Hijikata, vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, rests in this land. During the turmoil at the end of the Edo period, the man who fought with pride may have turned to this temple, not his sword, in the end. His bronze statue, which stands quietly in a corner of the temple grounds, still stares out at him as if pleading for something. Behind him was the sadness of someone who resisted the times.

A timeless place of prayer and vows

Ono Shrine has been worshiped by samurai and common people since ancient times, and it is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo and the Tokugawa shogunate sought its protection. The precincts are not extravagant, but rather simple, but just standing there fills you with an indescribable sense of security. The meaning of remaining here unchanged for thousands of years - it teaches us that there are things that gain true value over time, even without human intervention.

However, in contrast to the silence, the smell of battle still lingers in Takahata Fudoson. To this day, the ``Hijikata Toshisan Memorial Day'' is held every May, and Shinsengumi fans from all over the country remember his life. What did he think when he left this place? How did you finally look at the Takahata mountain range as it disappeared? The answer may lie in the stone pavement of the temple grounds, in the fallen leaves dancing in the wind, and in the quiet gaze of Fudo Myoo.

Furthermore, the mountain behind Takahata Fudoson is beautiful in every season. In early summer, hydrangeas are in full bloom, and in autumn, fiery autumn leaves envelop the approach. I would like you to close your eyes quietly in this place where historical memories and the breath of nature intertwine. The same wind from a thousand years ago will caress your cheeks and take you back to the past.

People's wishes, beliefs, vows, and regrets. All of that is here.
We want you to take the first step towards a journey beyond time.
