Video Not Working? Fix It Now

With Steiner Modellwerke from Dillingen (Germany), there is again a new small company that, despite the very manageable market, dared to implement 1/32 scale (1 to 32) gauge 1 locomotives.

I was allowed to try out and photograph the new 81-series 81-gauge steam locomotive from Steiner Modellwerke for a week and a half for an editorial report coming out in the trade model railway magazine "Eisenbahn Magazin". On this occasion I also shot and edited this unboxing video for my YouTube channel. The model, which is produced in small quantities by hand in brass in Asia, has a list price of 2690 euros and is probably already completely sold out.

In the 23-minute video, after unpacking the 3.3 kg and 352 mm model, you can see and hear:
- Countless close-ups of many filigree details (boiler section, air pump, coal box attachment, cylinder, incredibly detailed driver's cab, ...)
- Close-ups of all moving parts (screw coupling, brake hoses, buffers, smoke chamber door, water box cover, tool box cover, sand box cover, food dome cover, driver's cab doors)
- I also show the locomotive from below
- In a small test drive without sound you can hear the smooth-running Faulhaber motor when driving through Märklin switches with a radius of 1020 mm and also during a slow travel (converted 0.6 km / h)
- Of course I also try out a lot of sounds from the LokSound5L decoder from ESU in the video
- In addition, the motorized changeover can be seen in function and its sound can also be heard
- There are also test drives with the driving sound on a roller test brench (also with the sounds of curve squeals and rail joints)
- And finally, the wheel-synchronized smoke developer, including the separately controlled cylinder steam, can also be experienced in function (both on the roller dynamometer and on small commutes on a photo diorama
