Our laws have long recognized that the right to parent one’s children is fundamental and therefore may not be intruded upon without due process of law. Understanding due process is not just a legal necessity; working with parents within the dependency system is in the best interest of children. This workshop will explore in depth the rights of individuals involved in the dependency system from shelter to trial. It will explain in practical terms what is required by law to protect the legal interests of parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
