Democracy in Cambodia never been in such danger since the Paris Peace Agreement of 1991. Opponents of the regime have been killed, imprisoned on politically motivated changes and illegally forced into exile. Parliamentary immunity, designed to protect elected representatives, has been shown to be an empty fiction. Curbs on the operations of a free media have reached new levels of paranoid repression.
Yet even in these dark days, the desire for democracy in Cambodia has never been so strong. The aspiration of the people to a genuine political choice and to peaceful national self-determination has survived all this. It will never be extinguished. That is why this website asks you to consider joining me in donating to support the cause of Democracy in Cambodia. With your help, the legitimate aspiration of Cambodians to determine their own future will be turned into reality.
