Diane Rehm is a longtime public media journalist based in Washington, D.C., best known for her 37 years in the host’s chair of The Diane Rehm Show, produced at WAMU and distributed by NPR.
In 2016, Rehm transitioned to podcasting, where her listeners can still find her direct, yet intimate, interview style on her program, “On My Mind,” where she speaks with authors, newsmakers and those shaping our culture today.
More recently, Rehm launched a monthly virtual book club for those stuck at home during the pandemic. The response was so positive, she has kept it going with panel discussions, one-on-one author interviews, and sometimes both.
Rehm’s on-air career earned her a George Foster Peabody Award in 2010, as well as a National Humanities Medal, which President Barack Obama presented to her in 2014.
