For over a century, Chadron State College has empowered students to excel in their careers and communities. Founded in 1911, Chadron State is Nebraska’s only four-year, regionally accredited college in the western half of the state. As a public institution rooted in teacher education, we take pride in our accessibility and affordability, welcoming more than 2,000 students in undergraduate, graduate, and online programs.
Our curriculum spans more than 50 majors and endorsements, along with several master’s degree programs. Located in the scenic Pine Ridge region of northwest Nebraska, our campus offers vibrant outdoor recreation and is just an hour south of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills.
The town of Chadron (pronounced SHAD-ren), with its population of around 6,000, provides a welcoming community and cultural opportunities, making it an ideal place to live and learn. Join us at Chadron State College, where educational excellence and opportunity meet.
