This is the workflow for an animation for the homepage of a website for Koala, an AI sales tool. You can view the final animation in situ here: https://getkoala.com/
As you can see, since the animation had to allow room at the top for buttons, it looks “bottom heavy” in these workflow videos.
The design was done in Figma, and I was tasked with bringing the animation to life. I used Overlord 2 to pull Figma assets into After Effects.
There was some back and forth, revising the animation and removing touches the client didn’t feel were on brand.
The revelation for me was discovering WebM format for final delivery. It was suggested to me by one of the web developers, and the file size is incredibly low while maintaining decent quality.
Oh, and the humbling experience of trying to wow the client with flashy motion design touches, which are quickly nixed, but they LOVE the stock confetti asset you put at the end of the animation which takes you two minutes to find.
