What I Eat in a Week at My Anne's House in Turkey 🏡🍴 | Turkish Family Cooking Adventures
Join me on a delicious journey through a week spent at my Anne’s (mother-in-law’s) house in Turkey (Türkiye)! Together, we dive into traditional Turkish cooking, sharing recipes, family moments, and the warmth of homemade meals. Here’s a taste of what we cooked:
🍲 Traditional Turkish Delights: From creamy yogurt soup to Anne's special steamed beef with beans and perfectly cooked Turkish rice with shehrie, every dish is full of love and flavor. We also enjoyed crispy sigara börek, fried cheese, potatoes with eggs, and tantuni – a mouthwatering chicken-filled sandwich.
🔥 Cozy Wood-Heater Creations: Using the traditional wood heater, we baked potatoes, and cooked fish. We even roasted chestnuts and vegetables like eggplants, sweet peppers, green peppers, and onions for that authentic Turkish countryside vibe.
🍢 BBQ & Grilled Favorites: On the mangal (BBQ), we grilled juicy chicken and flavorful shish kebabs (beef skewers), creating unforgettable smoky flavors.
🍆 Classic Family Recipes: Together, we made karniyarik (eggplants stuffed with minced meat), köfte (Turkish meatballs), and Anne’s signature eggs with ezme. Baba (father-in-law) brought çiğ köfte to add a special touch to our meals.
☕ Tea & Turkish Coffee Moments: No Turkish meal is complete without tea or coffee, enjoyed alongside snacks like leblebi. Every sip and bite brought the family closer.
This week was all about celebrating food, family, and Turkish traditions. Whether you’re here for recipe inspiration or a glimpse into Turkish culture, this video has it all.
