In mid-January, 2025, I spent one night at Alum Creek State Park, site E24. I slept in my 2021 Subaru Outback. This is a "no build" setup, meaning I have no sleeping platform or other structures built into the vehicle. I simply lay the seats flat and place sleeping pads/sleeping bags on top for comfort.
Upon arrival it was around 35 degrees F, with light rain and wind. Overnight we dropped down to about 21F, which was our morning temperature as well. I cooked chili dogs over the campfire and in the morning had fried eggs and coffee on a 2-burner propane stove. I enjoyed some Bell's Two Hearted IPAs as my beer of choice for this trip.
