So to be completely honest, I’m not 100% sure what this mystery wood is, but it made a great woodturning project! Some friends gave this piece to me and said they pulled it out of a fire burn in the mountains of Colorado. I am about 90% sure it’s Twisted Pine, but it smells a lot like Juniper and it finished much smoother than I’m used to with pine.
I used standard woodturning techniques: after casting the piece in epoxy resin, it was straightforward woodturning to produce this fantastic, one-of-a kind piece of wood art with these crazy twists. I love it!
