Alex goes over the process for designing an open world, sandbox-based solar system for space games using Unreal Engine's World Composition tools. Follow him through the entire process of getting levels created, adding assets, setting view distances with Unreal's layer systems, and solving some common issues with space games like how to simulate light coming from a star.

We hadn't been able to find any tutorials for space games using Unreal's World Composition tools, so we wanted to put something out there about what we learned to help any other aspiring developers.
