New York City policeman, John McClane, is visiting his estranged wife and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. The festivities are cut short by a group of terrorists, led by Hans Gruber, who take over the exclusive high-rise and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages - but him. This movie was directed by John McTiernan, also known for blockbusters such as Predator and The Hunt for Red October. The studio took big gambles on Bruce Willis, who was mostly known for his roles in romantic comedies (Moonlighting, Blind Date), and Alan Rickman, who was a relative unknown at the time. Boy, did it paid off! Even 35 years later, this movie has been hailed as one of the best action movies of all time. We would like to add to that acclaim and declare that this film is one of the best Christmas/Holiday movies of all time as well! Die Hard is a staple among any Xennial who grew up in the 80s. Filled with so many iconic scenes and movie lines that are still referenced to this day!
